Announcing Teaching Out - A Roundtable for LGBT Educators and Allies
At this year’s conference we have
added a new component to the conference called Teaching Out on Friday
Afternoon, October 16. This roundtable will provide the opportunity for faculty
and senior staff to share best practices and discuss common concerns
faced by GLBT Educators and Allies.
The agenda will be set by the
attendees who pre-register. Topics currently under consideration include:
- Risks and Rewards of Coming Out in
the Classroom – based on a session at the Academy of Management in Chicago in
August of 2009
- Tenure Discussions – strategies for
what works from those who’ve achieved tenure
- Breakthroughs in Journal Publication
for GLBT Scholars – where to focus, where to avoid when trying to place
research in publications
Beyond this one afternoon session
you will be able to fully attend the rest of the conference as well. The rate
for faculty attendees is $75 until September 15, and the hotel rate is $149 per
night.
