Club Leadership Summit

After two years of virtual programming, we are excited to get back together with the ROMBA Community! Prior to the LGBTQ+ MBA Club Leadership Summit, we will be hosting a happy hour for the entire ROMBA community at the Chicago W - Lakeshore. This is your opportunity to build personal and professional connections, find a new role or a mentor, hire top-notch talent, and have some fun! Everyone in the ROMBA community is invited to join the club leaders, staff, and Board members to celebrate.

How can you connect your club to the broader community? Learn how to leverage events and activities in partnership with nonprofits, corporations, and other organizations to support the broader LGBTQ+ Community.

In a time where MBA applications are rising, we have the potential to make our respective business school communities more diverse than they’ve ever been. But what is the best way for us to engage with pre-MBA LGBTQ+ students? Are there any takeaways from remote learning/work that we can leverage here?

LGBTQ+ MBAs need to be advocates and activists in an increasingly hostile social and political environment for LGBTQ+ folks. This session will review current legislation across states, discuss the context for this changing tenor, and provide MBAs with a workshop, tools, and action plan to make their schools, campuses, and communities driving forces for inclusion.

The three club finalists will present their pitches in a chance to win $5000 for their club. All student club leader attendees will vote for the club of their choosing.

Hear from a panel of speakers on how to be an inclusive leader within the LGBTQ+ community. This session will focus on how to be more inclusive towards members who aren't out.

Allyship is crucial for ending discrimination and achieving equal rights for LGBTQ+. This panel will allow club leaders to share best practices and brainstorm ways to utilize their network to engage allies without compromising the engagement of LGBTQ+ members (especially those that are not out).

Reaching Out staff will share ways for club leaders to stay connected post-summit.
