What are the ROMBA Summer Treks?

Summer Treks are multi-day programs designed for incoming MBA students to visit top companies, explore industries, and build early connections with recruiters and peers before business school begins.

Who is eligible to attend?

Treks are intended for newly admitted, incoming MBA students who are preparing for recruiting and want early exposure to companies and career paths. Anyone beginning their MBA in 2026, or any part-time MBA students who are rising 2nd or 3rd year students are welcome to apply.

What does a typical trek look like?

Participants visit multiple companies over one or two days. Each visit typically includes an overview of the business, insights into company culture, recruiting information, and time to engage directly with employees and leaders.

How long are the treks?

The New York and Chicago treks are two-day experiences, though Boston will be a shorter, one-day trek.

What are the benefits of attending a trek?

Treks provide early access to recruiters, help you understand different industries, and allow you to start building relationships before formal recruiting begins. You can also start building your network of fellow incoming MBAs before you event set foot on campus!

How competitive is the application process?

Treks are highly competitive and spots are limited. Applications are typically reviewed on a rolling basis, so applying early is encouraged.

What costs are participants responsible for?

Participants are generally responsible for their own travel and accommodations and most meals. Some participating firms may provide breakfast or lunch during the trek. Financial support may be available through programs like the Student Access Fund.

How can I make the most of the experience?

Come prepared with questions, engage actively with company representatives, and take advantage of networking opportunities with both professionals and fellow incoming MBAs.
