Reaching Out MBA is proud to present the Rich Chicotel LGBTQ+ Leadership Award, which honors two (2) exceptional LGBTQ+* MBA students or alumni who exemplify the values and legacy of Rich Chicotel. You can learn more about Rich’s legacy here.

Rich was known for his unwavering commitment to service, community, and mentorship. This award recognizes individuals who follow in his footsteps—those using their skills to create meaningful impact within the Reaching Out MBA community and across the broader business landscape.

By celebrating these leaders, the Rich Chicotel LGBTQ+ Leadership Award amplifies the stories of our community, showcasing how ROMBA students and alumni are driving change and delivering excellence.

Nominees must demonstrate most or all of the following:

• Promote business education, particularly among students considering MBA programs at universities partnered with Reaching Out MBA.
• Build community and advance inclusion, by participating in on-campus, off-campus, or organization-supported groups that support belonging and career development for Reaching Out MBA students, alumni, and professionals.
• Mentor and uplift others, encouraging fellow members of the Reaching Out MBA community to explore and succeed in business careers.
• Serve as visible role models, inspiring peers through leadership, authenticity, and service within their campus or organization.
• Support Reaching Out MBA’s mission directly, through active involvement and giving of time and/or resources in ROMBA programming and initiatives.

Award Benefits:

• $2,500 cash award for each recipient
• Commendation suitable for resumes and professional materials
• Complimentary registration to the annual ROMBA Conference
• Recognition and award presentation at a ROMBA Conference plenary session
• Featured profile in the ROMBA newsletter, website, and social media

Award recipients are required to attend the 2025 ROMBA Conference, including the recognition ceremony on Friday, September 27.

Nominations:
While self-nominations are accepted, nominations submitted by another individual are strongly encouraged and typically result in a stronger application. Please note that only one (1) nomination per individual will be considered.
